African Violet Glossary

Zinc: (Zn) Essential element for the growth and vitality of African Violets. A micronutrient. Zinc plays an important role in the function of photosynthesis.

Zinc Deficiency: Condition which describes an African Violet that is not getting enough zinc. Among other symptoms, a deficiency of zinc can cause interveinal chlorosis. More information.

Zinc Overload: Condition which describes an African Violet that is getting too much zinc. The most noticeable symptom of an excess of zinc occurs on African Violets which have variegated leaves. On these varieties, the leaves turn entirely green. More information.
