Gray Powder on Leaves

Leaves have a light gray powder on them. If your African Violet has this symptom, it is probably suffering from the following:

Check this possible cause against the symptoms you are seeing. It is accompanied by a full description which will help you determine whether or not it is the cause of the problems your African Violet is experiencing.

Note: The light gray powder associated with Powdery Mildew should be distinguished from the fuzzy gray or brown growth that Botrytis causes. It should also not be confused with the white residue which is sometimes caused by getting water on the leaves. For more information, see Botrytis or Water On Leaves.
